Subject: Why Bush does not send email
Message:

Wow... I'd like to hear a little more. For the most part I am not sypmathetic.

This article touches on a lot of issues though.

  1. Bush's administration is far too secretive. Government IS the people. There should be NO secrets in government!
  2. I am not sympathetic about Bush's cry for privacy. Everyone working at Microsoft and just about any other company does not have private email. Why should Bush be any different?!
  3. I do think email privacy is a huge, poorly defined area that needs better legal boundaries defined.
  4. Bush is not a high-functioning or hands-on president. He doesn't need to use email. He takes a lot of vacations, has short working hours and a large staff helping him. He's better off sticking with the phone. Less risk that someone will use his words against him.
